Home Team Privacy Policy

Home Team is a private family dashboard operated by Harshal Sisodia. It helps invited family members view a shared Google Calendar and manage household tasks, groceries, meals, and family notes. This policy explains what information Home Team uses and how it is handled.

Information we use

  • Google sign-in: When an invited member signs in, Home Team receives the member’s Google account email address, name, and basic profile information needed to identify the member and restrict access to invited family accounts. Home Team does not receive the member’s Google password.

  • Shared Google Calendar: With the calendar owner’s permission, Home Team requests read-only access to the family’s selected shared calendar. It retrieves event titles, dates, times, and locations to display them to signed-in family members. Home Team does not edit Google Calendar events, access email messages, or read unrelated calendars.

  • Household information: Invited members can add and change tasks, grocery items, meal plans, and family notes. Other invited members can see this information in the dashboard.

  • Session information: Home Team uses a secure sign-in cookie to keep members signed in. Server
    Server-side sessions normally expire after 30 days.

How we use and store information

Home Team uses this information only to provide the dashboard’s family features. The shared calendar authorization is stored as an encrypted Google token on the dashboard’s server. Household information and session records are stored in the dashboard’s server database. Calendar events are fetched from Google as needed and briefly cached to display the calendar; they are not added to the household database.

The dashboard is hosted by Render. Google provides sign-in and Calendar access. The weather widget requests a forecast for the fixed Redmond, Washington area from Open-Meteo; it does not request a member’s device location. These services may process information needed to deliver their respective functions under their own policies.

We do not sell personal information, use Google Calendar data for advertising, or use it to train artificial intelligence models. We do not share Google user data with data brokers or advertising platforms. Calendar details are displayed only to invited family members who are signed in to Home Team.

Home Team’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Your choices and deletion

The calendar owner can revoke Home Team’s Calendar access in their Google Account permissions. To request removal of a family account or deletion of information stored in Home Team, contact Harshal.sisodia@gmail.com. Household entries can also be edited or deleted in the dashboard. We retain account and household information while Home Team is in use, unless it is deleted or removal is requested. A sign-in session expires after 30 days or when the member signs out.

Security

Home Team limits dashboard access to invited Google accounts, uses HTTPS for the live site, stores session identifiers as hashes, and encrypts stored Google authorization tokens. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Changes and contact
